Chia & pear pudding for constipation relief in babies
Chia & Pear Puree Pudding for Constipation Relief in Babies
Starting solids is a big milestone—but sometimes it comes with a few… slow-moving side effects (hello, baby constipation). It’s common for little tummies to get a bit stuck while adjusting to new textures, fibres, and food types.
If your baby is straining, unsettled, or producing dry, hard poos, constipation might be to blame. The good news? Gentle food-based support can make a big difference—without needing to overhaul everything overnight.
This simple chia & pear pudding is:
✔️ Fibre-rich (hello, “P” fruits and chia!)
✔️ Full of nourishing fats
✔️ Easy on little tummies
✔️ Naturally sweet and baby-approved
🍐 Chia & Pear Puree Pudding
WHAT YOU NEED
1 pear (ripe)
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ cup liquid of choice (breastmilk, formula, coconut milk, or water)
HOW TO MAKE:
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Peel and roughly chop the pear, place on a lined tray with a generous dollop of coconut oil and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Bake for 10–15 minutes until soft and golden.
Mash with a fork or blend with a splash of liquid or oil to reach your baby’s preferred texture.
In a bowl, combine chia seeds and your chosen liquid. Stir to remove clumps.
Mix in the pear puree and let it sit for 10+ minutes (or overnight in the fridge) to thicken.
